HISTORY

Lions Club International was founded by Chicago businessman Melvin Jones.
In 2017we will be celebrating 100 years of humanitarian service. We are the
oldest and largest service club with a global membership of 1.35 million. In  
1925 Helen Keller asked the Lions if we would be her "Knights For The
B;ind" Since then Lions have been committed to saving and restoring sight
and providing support to the blind and visually impaired.
In addition to sight related programs Lions are the worlds largest disaster
relief organization. They are involved in many youth programs, LEO Clubs
being one of the. With over 5000 LEO clubs worldwide for children and teens
ages 11 - 18.

The Parsons Lions have been providing humanitarian service  by providing
eye exams, eye glasses, disaster relief, youth programs and environmental
projects.
We're a  diverse group ranging in age from twenties to 80's. We have fun by
having social events through out the year, providing interesting, and
informative programs at our meetings We are family friendly , children are
welcome.
